Port Day with Emil
Spend your port day seeing homes on Roatan.
A private day for your party: three homes chosen for you, lunch at Beachers on West Bay, and back at the pier with time to spare.
- Private, one party
- Up to 4 people
- Back 90 min before all-aboard
How the day runs
One day, kept like a ledger.
Everything is planned before you leave home, so the day on the island is spent looking, not driving around in circles.
- Before you sail
A 20-minute call
Your budget, how you would pay, and what the home is for. From that call I pick three homes for sale that week and send you the short list before you sail.
- 08:45
Pickup just outside the terminal gate
Once you are off the ship and through the gate, I am a few steps away. No sign to hunt for, no group to wait on.
- 09:15
Three homes, chosen for you
Time in each to open the cupboards, stand on the deck and ask about water, power and the road. The drives between them show you the areas too.
- 12:30
Lunch at Beachers, West Bay
My place on West Bay for sixteen years. Lunch close to the sand, and time to talk over what you saw.
- 13:45
A short sit-down on how foreigners buy
The steps, the costs line by line, how the money moves and who holds it. With a lawyer-notary at the table where available.
- 15:00
Back at the pier
90 minutes before all-aboard. I keep that margin whatever the day brings.
Who it is for
Retire, rent, or a little of both.

01
Retire
You are thinking about a winter on the island, or more. We look at quieter areas, how far the groceries and a clinic are, and what a year of costs looks like.

02
Rent
You want the home to earn when you are not in it. We talk about what renters book and what sits empty. I will not promise you a number; nobody honest can.

03
A little of both
A few months a year for you, rented the rest. We look for a home that can do both without a fight between the two.

Why Emil
Born here. Trained to count.
I am a fifth-generation islander. I trained as an accountant, so I read a closing sheet the way most people read a menu, and I will walk you through yours.
For sixteen years I have run Beachers on West Bay, where I meet people off the ships on most port days. I know the island area by area: which parts are quiet in the evening, and which homes are priced to sell. You get a straight answer, even when it is not the one you hoped for.

Questions
What people ask before they book.
What if my ship is late, or skips Roatan?
I follow your ship's arrival on the day. If it docks late, the day gets shorter by dropping a stop, never by cutting into your margin at the pier. If the ship skips Roatan, which weather sometimes forces, we set up a video tour of the same homes or plan a Discovery Weekend. What happens to your payment in that case is agreed in writing before you pay anything.
What if it rains?
Showers on Roatan often pass quickly, and we drive between homes. Seeing a house in the rain tells you something too: how the roof, the deck and the road behave.
Can I buy a home the same day?
No, and you should not want to. A foreign buyer needs their own Honduran lawyer-notary and a title search before any money moves. The day is for deciding whether Roatan, and which part of it, is right for you. If it is, we take the next steps from home or on a Discovery Weekend.
Which port will I arrive at?
Roatan has two cruise ports: Mahogany Bay (being renamed Isla Tropicale) and the Port of Roatan in Coxen Hole. Your cruise itinerary names it. If you are not sure, choose "Not sure yet" on the form and we will check together on our call.
How many people can come?
One party, up to 4 people. The day is private: you, your party and me.
Is this a cruise line excursion?
No. It is a private day booked directly with me; no cruise line sells, arranges or endorses it. As on any day ashore, getting back on board is your responsibility. My part is to have you at the pier 90 minutes before all-aboard.
What does it cost?
Price on request. I tell you the price for your party before you commit to anything. If you buy a home through me, the Port Day is credited back.
